About the North Saami language
North Saami language is the most widely spoken of the Saami (Sámi or Sami) languages, a group of Uralic languages spoken by Sami people in the north of Norway, Sweden and Finland, and in northwestern Russia. Somewhere between between 15,000 and 25,000 people speak North Saami. Sami people have previously been known as Lapp people, but this term today is considered offensive by many Sami.
