Kids' ESL games for learning spelling

These English as a Second Language (ESL) materials were made for both kids and adult English language students, and are an easy and fun way to test the English words that you have already learned. These spelling games were developed primarily for students of English as a second or foreign language, however, they could also be used as tools for teaching English spelling to primary school students. Playing these games familiarizes the ESOL student with the sounds of English, the letters of the alphabet and phonemes and the silent letters present in the language. Although the instructions for these games require a relatively advanced level of English to read, the games are simple and intuitive enough to use that most students could easily operate these exercises without prior instruction. English spelling games complement the language learning games on the main English (ESL) games page.
